AMS-2
Virtual AMS (VAMS) is a way to replay AMS trends remotely, by plant and Triple 5 personnel, without using a VPN or modem connection. Plant personnel now have the ability to check Triple 5 acoustic data from their desks. Using VAMS, the Triple 5 Surveillance Program has a quick connection to the acoustic data for up to the minute analysis that is not hindered by a slow phone connection or VPN connection. Triple 5 requests all plants participating in the Surveillance Program upgrade to VAMS in an effort to improve response time for the high volume of customers needing assistance with data analysis.
VAMS Replay software is required to view the data on the remote computer. Once the VAMS Replay software is installed, the plant can view up to the minute data on the remote computer without moving to the system enclosure. The VAMS Replay program can be installed on an unlimited number of computers. VAMS uses UDP protocol and requires an outgoing port.
VAMS does not replace the need for VPN and/or phone connection. Since VAMS does not provide a pathway into the plant, Triple 5 is not able to perform system maintenance, send software updates or store historical data through this connection. A VPN or modem connection must be maintained to perform these functions. Triple 5 also plans to apply a more advanced leak analysis program to the virtual data.
